This magnificent New England style house, set amid Hampshire countryside, has impressive views over lakes and woodland.

The design brief required the Alitex greenhouse to be the main focal point in the redesigned part of the garden, with raised wooden beds for vegetables and cut-again flowers.

The vegetable garden was on a raised platform set above the main living area of the house and it was therefore important to ensure that it was attractive and pleasing to the eye from both the house and at ground level outside. Stepover apple trees were planted to create a boundary and herbs framed a path leading to the beautiful greenhouse. Traditional long herbaceous borders below the vegetable garden, planted with roses, nepeta, penstemon, violas, calamintha and Pittosporum ’Tom Thumb’ for winter interest, now complete the view from the house.
